Alex Lee trained at Mane's Perfumery School, starting at the headquarters in Bar-sur-Loup, spending a year in the Manhattan office, then joining the Mane team in Paris. He studied at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery and ISIPCA after initial training in Grasse. In 2013, he won the young perfumer competition 'The Scent of Esxence - 5 Years of Excellence'. He has created fragrances for Lancôme (Figues & Agrumes), Carolina Herrera (Gold Myrrh Absolute), Penhaligon's (Agarbathi), Salvatore Ferragamo, Sillages, Masque Milano, Dolce&Gabbana, Zara, and recently Purple by Fugazzi for Liberty London using IFF molecules like Veridian, Ambertonic, and Ambermor.
