Alexis Grugeon is known for creating new textures and playing with contrasts, blending addictive ingredients to achieve surprising and memorable compositions.
Alexis Grugeon is a French perfumer renowned for his inventive approach to fragrance creation. Born and raised in Beauvais, a nature-rich town in northern France, his fascination with perfumery began at the age of nine after visiting the Perfume Museum in Grasse. He honed his craft at the prestigious ISIPCA school in Versailles, one of the world's leading institutions for perfumery education. After graduating, he worked as a perfumer's assistant in several fragrance houses in Grasse, immersing himself in the heritage and artistry of French scent-making. In 2007, Grugeon joined Firmenich, which later became dsm-firmenich, marking the start of a prolific career developing fragrances for a diverse range of international brands. His portfolio includes creations for Amouage, Ariana Grande, Avon, Cacharel, Lancôme, Michael Kors, and many more. Grugeon is lauded for his ability to play with textures and contrasts, often combining addictive ingredients to yield unexpected olfactory experiences. Beyond perfumery, he is an enthusiastic triathlete, balancing his passion for sports with his creative profession, a synergy he credits for maintaining focus and calm during high-pressure projects.
