Andy Tauer is a Swiss self-taught perfumer and founder of the independent niche house Tauer Perfumes, based in Zurich, Switzerland, where all fragrances are created and produced in-house in small batches. His first perfume, Le Maroc pour Elle, appeared in 2005 and helped establish his cult following. Subsequent notable creations include L’Air du Désert Marocain, Lonestar Memories, Incense Rosé and Une Rose Chyprée, many of which are cited as key niche launches. Tauer previously worked in IT and has a background in chemistry, which he has applied to building his own indie brand, crafting perfumes himself in Zurich using a mix of natural and synthetic materials.
