Sundowner

by Andy Tauer

Tauer Perfumes Sundowner is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2021, created by Andy Tauer. Sundowner opens with Rose, Cinnamon, Bergamot, and Orange, settles into a heart of Cacao Pod, Cypriol Oil Or Nagarmotha, and Tobacco, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Ambergris, Tonka Bean, and Vanilla. Tauer Perfumes's Sundowner carries an Acquired verdict, a warm spicy-led wear.

This one's a proper love-it-or-hate-it. Some reckon it's a masterpiece of dry tobacco, while others can't stand the opening or find it too challenging. Definitely not a blind buy.

About

Sundowner opens with a candied hit of cinnamon, orange, and a whisper of rose before diving into the main event: a rich, dry tobacco tempered by earthy cypriol and a subtle cocoa sweetness. As it settles, creamy sandalwood, ambergris, and vanilla wrap around the tobacco, creating a warm, comforting, yet distinctly textured aroma. Imagine a sophisticated pipe tobacco, not sugary-sweet but rich and nuanced, with hints of spice and a dry, almost dusty finish.
