Annie Buzantian is a highly acclaimed Master Perfumer whose influence spans decades in the fragrance industry. She began her journey in perfumery in the early 1970s with Universal Oil Products, which later became part of Givaudan, where she started as a lab assistant and quickly rose to junior perfumer under the mentorship of Elie Roger. In 1972, she joined Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich) as their first perfumer trainee and made history in 1988 by becoming Firmenich’s first female Master Perfumer. Over her prolific career, Buzantian has crafted more than 90 fragrances, many of which are considered modern classics. She has collaborated with numerous major brands, including Estée Lauder, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren, and is credited with shaping the contemporary landscape of fine fragrance. Her contributions have been recognized with prestigious accolades, such as the American Society of Perfumers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003 and the Fragrance Foundation Perfumer of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. Annie Buzantian is celebrated for her ability to continually push creative boundaries and inspire both peers and newcomers within the industry.
