Carlos Viñals is a highly respected VP Senior Perfumer currently at Symrise, whose career path has taken him through several of the most prestigious fragrance houses in the industry. The son of a flavorist in the tobacco sector, Viñals developed a passion for scent early in life. His professional journey began in 1985 at IFF, where he was selected for a perfumer apprenticeship by renowned mentors Bernard Chant and Carlos Benaïm. After a decade of honing his skills under their guidance, Viñals further broadened his expertise at Givaudan, Takasago, and Fragrance Resources, ultimately joining the Symrise Creative Center in New York in 2009. Known for his humility and creative spark, Viñals has crafted fragrances for an impressive array of clients ranging from major fashion houses like Calvin Klein, John Varvatos, and Carolina Herrera to niche and masstige brands such as A. N. Other, Victoria's Secret, and Bath & Body Works. His work is driven by the belief that great perfume should bring joy to the wearer, and he has been recognized by the Fragrance Foundation for his accomplishments, including the award-winning JV x NJ Silver Edition. Viñals continues to leave a significant mark on the world of perfumery with his versatile and energetic approach.
