Fragrance development executive / olfactory visionary (not a bench perfumer)

About

Evelyn Lauder (1936-2011) was an Austrian-American businesswoman, philanthropist and senior corporate vice president of The Estee Lauder Companies - she was an executive and head of fragrance development worldwide, NOT a bench perfumer. From 1989 she ran a long fragrance-development career and is credited as the executive visionary behind the company's biggest fragrance launches, including Beautiful and Pleasures, and she created and built the Clinique brand. The actual perfumers (noses) of Beautiful were Bernard Chant, Max Gavarry and Sophia Grojsman; Evelyn Lauder's role was conceiving, directing and championing these fragrances, not formulating them.
