About

Françoise Caron is a celebrated French perfumer born in Grasse in 1949, into a family deeply connected to the perfume raw materials trade. Enchanted by the world of scents from a young age, she pursued her passion at the Roure Bertrand Dupont Perfumery School in Grasse, immersing herself in the traditional techniques of her hometown. As one of the trailblazing women in the field during her early career, Caron worked diligently to gain recognition and established herself as a creative force. In 1975, she moved to Paris to join Roure-now Givaudan Roure-where she developed fragrances for some of the world’s most renowned houses. Over the years, she has collaborated with major brands such as Hermès, Giorgio Armani, Kenzo, Le Labo, and Valentino, and is known for crafting enduring classics that balance technical skill with artistic sensibility. Today, she is affiliated with Takasago, continuing her legacy of innovation while remaining devoted to her craft. Her creations are admired for their ability to evoke nature and emotion, and her career has inspired generations of perfumers, including her brother, Olivier Cresp.
