About

Georges Darzens was a Russian-born French chemist who directed the L.T. Piver research laboratory from 1897 to 1920. He collaborated with Jacques Rouché on Piver fragrances including Trèfle Incarnat, launched in 1898, Floramye, launched in 1903, and Pompeia, launched in 1907. His fragrance work drew on odorants he developed, including isoamyl salicylate, associated with the scent of flowering clover.
