Joachim Correl, also listed by some sources as Joachim Correll, was born in Holzminden, Germany, and is associated with Symrise in São Paulo, Brazil. Sources report that he joined H&R in the 1970s, moved to South America in 1978, and earned the title of Master Perfumer in 2011. His documented compositions include Portinari for O Boticário, launched in 1998 with Thierry Bessard; Six Scents No. 1: Urban Tropicalia, created with designer Alexandre Herchcovitch; and Biografia Inspire for Natura, launched in 2016 with Verônica Kato.
