Loc Dong is a master perfumer renowned for his dynamic journey from Vietnam to the pinnacle of the fragrance industry. Born in 1972, Dong's early fascination with scents was nurtured by his herbalist grandfather, surrounded by medicinal plants and spices. At eleven, he emigrated alone to the United States, a formative experience that instilled resilience and creativity. Initially aspiring to become a doctor, Dong was drawn into perfumery and began his professional career at Haarmann & Reimer in 1992. His talent was recognized by legendary noses such as Dominique Ropion, Sophia Grojsman, and Carlos Benaim, who mentored and encouraged him. Over the decades, Dong has been celebrated for bridging his Vietnamese heritage with contemporary perfumery, drawing inspiration from his roots, personal evolution, and global experiences. His career includes key roles at IFF in New York and Paris, and in 2023 he joined Symrise's creative team, working out of both New York and Paris. Loc Dong has crafted numerous iconic fragrances for major houses and celebrities, making him one of the most versatile and influential perfumers of his generation.
