Known for work targeting Middle Eastern and international markets, Petkov frequently uses rich, opulent constructions with natural spicy and balsamic facets. His portfolio for brands like Bond No. 9 and Xerjoff often combines warm resins, spices, and oriental-leaning structures designed to appeal across cultures while remaining commercially attuned to specific regional tastes.
Miroslav Petkov is a Bulgarian perfumer from Plovdiv who began his career as an apprentice at a local fragrance production center in Bulgaria, training under experienced perfumers before moving abroad. After an early stint in Argentina, he relocated to Spain, where he worked as a perfumer for Iberchem in Murcia from 2012 to early 2018, focusing on Middle Eastern markets. He later joined International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), where he has been based in Dubai, with roles including perfumer from 2018 and Senior Perfumer from 2023. Petkov is credited with composing Bond No. 9’s B9 and Soho and additional fragrances for the brand’s Dubai Collection, and he has created perfumes for houses such as Xerjoff, Attar Collection, Arabesque Perfumes, Nishane, Aurora Scents, and others. He has stated that he has a particular affinity for natural spicy and balsamic notes and that he views “a good perfume” as universally good across cultures.
