Swiss Arabian Oud 01 is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2021, created by Miroslav Petkov. Oud 01 opens with Violet Leaf, Cumin, and Raspberry, and settles into a heart of Rose, Lily Of The Valley, and Cardamom. Swiss Arabian's Oud 01 carries an Acquired verdict, an oud-led wear.

This one's a divisive beast. Expect a challenging, animalic opening with hints of 'mothball' and 'body odour', but those who persevere (and macerate) are rewarded with a richly complex, smooth oud-rose-raspberry experience. Not a blind buy, mind.

About

Oud 01 kicks off with a startling blend of tart raspberry and violet leaf, underpinned by a notable cumin note that gives it an almost salty-skin, raw edge. As the initial intensity mellows, a sophisticated heart of rich rose and spicy cardamom emerges. The dry down is a smooth, clean oud, not skanky at all, complimented by soft leather and a lingering amber warmth.
