Nathalie Feisthauer’s style is marked by artistic versatility and a cosmopolitan sensibility, blending classical French craftsmanship with bold, innovative accords. Her work is distinguished by a fearless approach to materials and a passion for pushing olfactory boundaries across both mainstream and niche projects.
Nathalie Feisthauer is a celebrated French master perfumer whose career spans over three decades and encompasses a remarkable breadth of work for both commercial giants and avant-garde niche houses. She made history as the first trainee without a perfumery family background to be accepted into the prestigious Roure Bertrand Dupont (now Givaudan) perfumery school in Grasse in 1983, breaking tradition in an industry long dominated by family dynasties. Feisthauer’s international outlook was shaped early on by her time at Estée Lauder in New York, where she absorbed the energy and vibrancy of the American fragrance scene. Over the years, she played a leading role at major fragrance houses including Givaudan and Symrise, crafting scents that range from the iconic Hermès Eau des Merveilles to daring compositions for Etat Libre d’Orange and many others. In 2014, she embraced independence, founding LABscent in Montmartre, Paris, where she continues to create for a diverse roster of exclusive niche brands worldwide. Feisthauer is recognized for her creative freedom, sincerity, and passion, earning numerous industry accolades such as the FIFI Perfumer of the Year award in 2019 and several prestigious niche fragrance awards.
