Nejla Barbir is a master perfumer whose career has been marked by a blend of rigorous scientific training and a passion for cross-cultural inspiration. Born in Tunisia, she moved to France in 1980 to pursue higher education and obtained a PhD in Chemistry at Paris V, Observatory Pharmaceutica College, before training in perfumery at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles, graduating in 1988. Her professional journey began at Flora Synth, where she honed her craft under the guidance of renowned figures like Jean Louis Sieuzac and Dominique Ropion. She continued her career as a senior perfumer at Harman & Reimer (now Symrise) until 1999 and also worked as an independent consultant, creating fragrances for selective brands including Givenchy. Nejla has developed perfumes for major houses such as Christian Dior, Estée Lauder, Kiton, and contributed to the modernization of scents for Hermès. In 2003, she founded her own company, PARFUMANIA, focused on innovative perfume compound production with advanced technology. Her diverse cultural experiences, spanning several countries, deeply influence her creative approach, and her understanding of refinement and seduction has distinguished her in the industry.
