Rania Jouaneh is the founder and in-house perfumer of the French niche brand RANIA J, established in 2012 (Fumerie, Daring Light, brand site). Originally from Jordan, she spent her childhood between the Middle East and Africa, surrounded by jasmine and other local aromas that strongly influence her work (Scentissime, Olfactoryfactory). Based in Paris, she formally trained in perfumery at Cinquième Sens, a perfume school in Paris, after leaving a prior career in business and tourism in her late 30s (Scentissime, Ministry of Scent). She composes the fragrances for her own label, which emphasizes high proportions of natural raw materials and aims to express Middle Eastern olfactory traditions through French perfumery know-how (Ministry of Scent, RANIA J brand materials).
