About
Stephen Dirkes is an American perfumer and olfactory artist, born in the U.S. to an ethnically German family and later migrating to Canada, where he studied classical composition and began composing for film. He is the founder and perfumer of the Brooklyn-based niche perfume house Euphorium Brooklyn, where he develops concept-driven fragrances and olfactory art projects. Dirkes is also perfumer and co-founder of Scents of Grenada, involved in perfumery education and a fragrance festival based at Tower Estate in St George’s, Grenada, since 2022. His practice often connects scent with sound, image, and narrative, creating “scentscapes” and experimental olfactory installations.
