What this is made of
Origin
From the rhizome of Alpinia officinarum, a ginger relative of southern China and southeast Asia. Cineole is prominent, which is what gives it a camphoraceous edge ginger does not have.
Usage in Perfumery
Adds a rooty, cool spice to oriental and gourmand-spice accords, and a savoury edge that keeps sweet spice constructions from cloying.
