Origin

Made synthetically. CAS 34902-57-3, an unsaturated macrolactone. Habanolide is the Firmenich, now dsm-firmenich, trade name. Symrise sells the same molecule as Globalide. The double bond is what separates it from the saturated macrolide Exaltolide, and Scentspiracy credits that unsaturation with the metallic facet.
