Green leads: fresh leaf and sap, dry rather than juicy. Premiere Peau's summary line is 'green-woody' in that order and its opening stage is 'green, woody, faintly fruity'. Dry_woody follows close behind as warm bark and seasoned wood, which is what makes this a base-weighted note rather than an orchard top. Fruity is the third facet and it stays a whisper - Fragrantica calls the note tangy-sweet fruity and woody, and the source prose gives the leaves a 'green, fruity whisper' rather than any juice. A faint sweetness from the bark, a trace of sour from the tangy edge, and a low earthy-mossy shading under the wood complete it.

Origin
A fantasy note. No supplier sells a pear tree or pear wood extract, and no trade material with an olfactive description was found for it. Premiere Peau gives the botanical as Pyrus, mainly Pyrus communis, and describes a compounded accord built to the impression of the standing tree - wood, bark, leaf and a fruit echo - not to a distilled material. Treat the vector as a description of that accord.
Usage in Perfumery
A heart-to-base note used to place a fragrance rather than to flavour it. It sits under orchard and green-woody accords and supplies the dry bark and rustling leaf that a pear fruit note cannot. Attested 24 times on Fragrantica, which files it under woods and mosses, and not at all on Parfumo. Its own source calls the odour strength medium, so it works as a bed and not as a lead.
