A Givaudan captive. Givaudan's own page calls it 'a floral, rosy, geraniol note with an elegant, fruity airiness'. It is used as an accent beside natural rose, not as a rose replacement.

Scent Profile

Floral dominates and it is specifically rosy, the geraniol kind - petal rather than jam, and all three sources lead with it. Fruity is second and every source names it: Givaudan's 'elegant, fruity airiness', Le Galion's 'fruity rose'. White_floral is third and rests on one source only, Cosmetics Business, which calls the top note muguet. Below sit a green stem trace that comes with muguet, a small citrus edge that geraniol-type materials carry, and light clean_musk, powdery and honeyed values. Those three are not named by any source. They are held low rather than zeroed because nobody stated their absence either.

Origin

Synthetic, proprietary to Givaudan, launched with Mahonial and Nympheal. CAS 1655500-83-6. Not sold openly. Cosmetics Business reports it as a 'fresh, diffusive rosy, muguet top note'. Le Galion's Champs de Mai calls it 'an exclusive molecule with a fruity rose scent which amplifies the floral radiance of the composition' and places it in that formula's base beside ambroxan.
