Undecavertol
Note Profile
About
Cool green violet leaf with a lily-of-the-valley floral side
Scent Profile
Undecavertol smells powerfully green and floral, like fresh violet leaves with a lily-of-the-valley and linden-blossom side. It is colder and cleaner than violet leaf absolute, with a dewy, metallic green and no waxy weight. A faint fruity trace of unripe pear peel shows as it settles. The drydown is clean and faintly soapy.

A given perfume with this note may use this material, or something else.
Origin
Undecavertol (4-methyl-3-decen-5-ol, CAS 81782-77-6) is a Givaudan aroma molecule. Givaudan developed it from work to identify unknown trace components of lily of the valley.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it for a powerful green-floral effect in many perfume types, and in rose and fruity pear accords. Givaudan says its exceptional strength needs careful dosing and blending.
