Karmaflor is a Givaudan captive: (4Z)-hept-4-en-2-yl 2-hydroxybenzoate, CAS 873888-84-7, PubChem 67480810. It is an alkyl salicylate, listed as one in patent WO2016071149A1 beside amyl, ethyl, cis-3-hexenyl, hexyl, isobutyl and methyl salicylate.

Usage in Perfumery

A floral heart material. A Givaudan-assigned patent, US 2019/0218476, classifies it as FLORAL and places it in the 11-50 microgram-per-litre equilibrium headspace band alongside Nympheal, Mefrosol, jasmin lactone delta, Lilial and cinnamic alcohol.
