About
Mugane is a captive floral molecule from MANE. It gives a bright, transparent lily-of-the-valley effect with no indolic weight, built for a market where the older muguet materials are banned.
Scent Profile
Mugane is a clean, transparent white_floral with pronounced radiance, read by both sources as fresh lily of the valley. A general floral roundness sits under it, and a green stem freshness runs through it, closer to the cut plant than to the soapy character of older muguet bases. A light aquatic_ozonic dewiness gives the diffusion its wet-petal quality. There is no indolic darkness and no narcotic weight. It is brighter and more diffusive than hydroxycitronellal, which reads waxy and heavy beside it, and less sweet and less powdery than bourgeonal. Premiere Peau calls it a cold white light rather than a warm yellow one.

Origin
A synthetic captive held by MANE. Its CAS number and structure are undisclosed, so nobody outside the house can check the odour claims against the chemistry. It exists because Convallaria majalis is a mute flower: it yields no essential oil or absolute at commercial scale, so every muguet in perfumery is reconstructed. Lyral was banned in 2021 and Lilial in 2022, which made a replacement for the older muguet workhorses commercially urgent.
Usage in Perfumery
A heart-note building block for muguet reconstructions, white floral accords and any transparent composition that needs radiant florality without heaviness. It is used as a high-power alternative to hydroxycitronellal and to the banned Lyral, giving floral density and radiance without weight.
