White Flowers is a group note for the heavy, indolic, night-scented flowers. It is not a milder version of Floral Notes but a different register: these are the flowers that carry an animal warmth alongside the petal, and brands print them as their own family for that reason.

Scent Profile

Heady white floral above everything else, with a green snapped-stem sharpness cutting it and a clear animalic warmth underneath - the indole that makes jasmine smell alive rather than pretty. Honey and a little ripe fruit at the centre.

No single source. The weighted common ground of 30 published notes whose leading facet is white_floral - jasmine, orange blossom, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, neroli, tuberose and gardenia. Fragrantica describes the same group as "reminiscent of jasmine, gardenia, and tuberose", which is three of those seven, chosen without seeing this.

Usage in Perfumery

The load-bearing heart of a floral perfume. A white floral accord gives diffusion and carry, and it is what makes a fragrance readable across a room. Used heavily it reads as opulent; used lightly it reads as skin.
