About

Alberto Morillas is one of the most influential and prolific figures in modern perfumery. Born in Seville, Spain in 1950, his earliest scent memories are rooted in the lush gardens of his childhood home, surrounded by orange trees, carnations, and jasmine. Relocating to Switzerland at age ten, Morillas briefly attended the École des Beaux Arts in Geneva before being inspired by a Vogue article on Jean-Paul Guerlain to pursue a career in fragrance. Largely self-taught, he joined Firmenich in 1970 at the age of 20 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a master perfumer in 1998. His career has been marked by a staggering output, with nearly 7000 perfumes created for leading brands across the globe. Morillas is celebrated for universally recognized icons such as Calvin Klein CK One, Giorgio Armani Acqua di Giò, Kenzo Flower, Bvlgari Omnia, and Marc Jacobs Daisy, among many others. In addition to his work at Firmenich, Morillas launched his own independent fragrance house, Mizensir, which began with candles and now offers a range of perfumes. He has also provided bespoke creations for Penhaligon's at Harrods. His contributions to perfumery have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Prix François Coty in 2003 and a Fragrance Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Morillas continues to shape the olfactory landscape, blending technical mastery with artistic sensibility.
