Fruity leads and both sources agree on it: Premiere Peau calls the aroma 'lively and tart... like a blend of raspberry and cranberry' and 'juicy and full-bodied', and Wikipedia says the fruit is favoured for its juice and flavour. Sour is the second axis and is the best-corroborated claim here, because both sources make it independently: 'sweet and tangy' from the perfumery description and 'sweet and very tart' from Wikipedia. Sweet_vanillic is the sweet half of those same two phrases, held low because neither source calls it sugary or jammy. Green sits for the 'subtle green undertone' and earthy for the 'hint of earthiness'. Both are named once each and both are hedged in the source, so both are traces and not facets.

Origin

The fruit of Myrica rubra, the Chinese bayberry, also called yangmei, red bayberry, waxberry and Chinese strawberry. Yumberry is a trade name for the juice and is a registered mark in the EU. The fruit is dark crimson, knobbly and fragile, and it stains. There is no traded natural extract. Premiere Peau lists no CAS number and no extraction method for it, so the perfumery note is built as an accord.

Usage in Perfumery

Premiere Peau places it as a top note that gives a burst of freshness, and says it works with citrus, florals and spices. Against other fruit it adds juiciness, and its tartness balances sweeter accords. Attested in three Fragrantica perfumes and none on Parfumo.
