Abbey Perfumery Kir Cashmere is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020. Kir Cashmere opens with Blackcurrant, settles into a heart of Neroli and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Vanilla. Abbey Perfumery's Kir Cashmere carries a Favourite verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Blackcurrant over honeyed neroli and jasmine, landing on plain vanilla. Soft, easy and unfussy, and the closest thing Abbey Perfumery has to a safe first bottle.

About

Kir Cashmere is the least complicated fragrance Abbey Perfumery makes, and that is the point of it. Cassis opens the composition with a burst of blackcurrant that is juicy rather than sharp, avoiding the slightly sour, green edge that blackcurrant can bring. The heart softens quickly into neroli and jasmine, and the neroli in particular gives the middle a honeyed, faintly waxy quality that stops the florals reading as thin or soapy. Underneath, vanilla does almost all the base work on its own, which keeps the drydown clean and legible rather than layering in woods or musks that would complicate it. The overall shape is fruity into floral into creamy, with no surprises along the way, and it holds that shape for most of its wear. It is an easy scent to be around and an easy one to wear without thinking about it, which makes it the sensible starting point for anyone auditioning the range. Spring and autumn suit it best, and it slides into office and casual wear without effort. Those wanting something with more argument to it should look at Bramble Smoke instead.
