Aromers No 60 Black Orchid is an Extrait de Parfum. No 60 Black Orchid opens with Truffle, Bergamot, Ylang-Ylang, and Blackcurrant, settles into a heart of Spicy, Gardenia, Orchid, and Lotus, and dries down to a base of Chocolate, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Patchouli. Aromers's No 60 Black Orchid carries an Acquired verdict, a oriental-led wear.

No 60 gets Tom Ford Black Orchid's truffle-chocolate gourmand core right at the opening, but the patchouli-incense base is lighter here, so it never builds the same dark, smoky opulence that made the original iconic.

About

Black Orchid earned its cult status by pairing an unusual black truffle opening with a dark floral heart and a dense patchouli, incense and chocolate base, a genuinely maximalist oriental. No 60 opens with a similarly earthy truffle-ylang note and a real black-currant sweetness that gives it a solid start. The floral heart and gourmand base is where it separates from the designer version: Tom Ford's patchouli-incense-chocolate combination builds a dense, almost velvety darkness that expands for hours, while this dupe's base is noticeably lighter, settling into a simpler sweet-woody blend sooner and missing the smoky, resinous weight that makes Black Orchid so recognisable. Projection is strong initially before calming down. It's a reasonable way to try the truffle-chocolate gourmand-oriental idea on a budget, but the designer original's dark opulence is hard to replicate at this price point.
