Fragrance Locker Pearl is a Parfum. Pearl opens with Bergamot and Mandarin, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom and Vetiver, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Cedar. Fragrance Locker's Pearl carries a Statement verdict, a citrus-led wear.

Pearl leans on the same aldehydic citrus-into-orange-blossom shape as Valaya, and the bright opening is a fair match, but the original's musk-ambroxan base has a diffusive, long-lasting quality this simpler cedar-musk version doesn't reach.

About

Parfums de Marly's Valaya opens with a crisp, aldehyde-tinged citrus burst before settling into a warm orange blossom heart and a musky, ambroxan-laced base, and has become one of the house's most popular fresh-floral releases for its clean elegance. Pearl mirrors the basic shape: bergamot and mandarin open bright and citrusy, orange blossom and vetiver carry the floral heart, and cedarwood, musk and amber close things out. The opening is genuinely close, sharing that same brisk, clean citrus quality. The gap widens in the base, where Valaya's musk and ambroxan combination gives it a soft, diffusive trail that lasts for hours, part of why the original is so well regarded for performance. Pearl's cedar-musk base is comparatively quiet, fading to a close skin scent well before the original would still be noticeable in a room. It captures the fresh, poised character of Valaya reasonably well for the first hour, but is best thought of as a daytime top-up scent rather than a long-wear alternative.
