Fragrance Locker Royal Ember is a Parfum. Royal Ember opens with Cardamom and Cinnamon, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom and Vanilla, and dries down to a base of Vanilla and Tonka Bean. Fragrance Locker's Royal Ember carries a Statement verdict, a vanilla-led wear.

Royal Ember follows Althaïr's spiced-vanilla shape fairly closely, and the cinnamon-cardamom opening into a rich vanilla base is genuinely one of the easier profiles to approximate, though it still comes across a shade sweeter and simpler than Parfums de Marly's polished original.

About

Parfums de Marly's Althaïr is a warm, addictive vanilla fragrance combining the best-loved elements of the house's other gourmand releases into a single spiced-vanilla signature, opening with cinnamon and cardamom before a creamy orange blossom and bourbon vanilla heart, then a rich base layering vanilla, tonka bean and Madagascan vanilla for genuine depth. It has excellent longevity and a reputation as one of the more universally appealing vanillas in the niche space. Royal Ember mirrors the structure closely: cinnamon and cardamom open, orange blossom and bourbon vanilla sit in the heart, and a triple-vanilla base of vanilla, tonka bean and Madagascan vanilla closes it out. This is one of the more successful reproductions in the range, since vanilla-forward gourmands are inherently easier to approximate than a fragrance built on a rare or distinctive facet. The spiced opening and rich vanilla base both read recognisably close to the original. Where it still falls short is refinement: Parfums de Marly's blend has a rounded, almost gourmet-patisserie complexity that Royal Ember simplifies into a more straightforwardly sweet vanilla, and the projection tails off sooner than the original's longer performance.
