Gritti Duchessa is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2020, created by Luca Gritti. Duchessa opens with Bitter Orange, Saffron, Peach, and Black Cherry, settles into a heart of Dark Chocolate, Jasmine, and Clove, and dries down to a base of Brown Sugar, Iris, and Almond. Divisive, though a triumph for some. If you're after a dark, opulent cherry that swerves the cough syrup vibe, Duchessa delivers. But for others, the saffron's too screechy or the cherry too fleeting, leaving a Baccarat Rouge 540-esque drydown that's not for everyone. Definitely sample first.
