Inspired by Mon Paris is Match Fragrances' budget reading of YSL's 2016 Mon Paris, the Olivier Cresp, Harry Fremont, Dora Baghriche and Anne Flipo strawberry-patchouli composition that became YSL's modern feminine flagship. Match's pyramid mirrors the original community pyramid: strawberry, raspberry, Calabrian bergamot and pear on top, a peony-jasmine sambac-datura-Chinese orchid heart, and a patchouli-white musk-ambroxan-cedar close. The first hour is the strongest match: strawberry and raspberry land jammy-bright with the bergamot and pear adding the lift, and the trademark fruity-floral impression arriving within minutes. By the heart the peony comes forward with jasmine sambac, datura and Chinese orchid building the lush floral bouquet. The dry-down trades on patchouli as the dominant anchor - the clean modern patchouli that defines Mon Paris - with white musk, ambroxan and cedar rounding the close. Performance is the budget compromise: four to six hours of moderate sillage. The character is fruity-floral-patchouli feminine, with spring, summer and autumn the natural seasons and date, casual, and evening the natural settings. The honest caveat: at fifty millilitres for under thirty pounds, the YSL's polished patchouli depth is softened here.
