Inspired by Phantom is Match Fragrances' budget reading of Paco Rabanne's 2021 Phantom, the Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion, Loc Dong and Juliette Karagueuzoglou lavender-apple-vanilla composition that became Rabanne's modern futurist masculine. Match's pyramid mirrors the original community pyramid: lavender and lemon on top, an apple-rosemary heart, and a vanilla-patchouli-vetiver base. The first hour is the strongest match: lavender and lemon lift bright with the trademark fresh-aromatic-sweet impression arriving within minutes. By the heart the apple comes forward as the headline fruit note with rosemary adding the green-aromatic backbone. The dry-down trades on vanilla as the sweet anchor, with patchouli and vetiver rounding the woody-green close. Performance is the budget compromise: four to six hours of moderate sillage. The character is fresh-aromatic-vanilla masculine, with spring through autumn the natural seasons and casual, office, and date the natural settings. The honest caveat: at fifty millilitres for under thirty pounds, the Rabanne's polished lavender-apple-vanilla depth is softened here.
