A dark green-woody fougere where birch smoke and tweed open over restrained oud, with a moderate trail that draws closer to the skin as it dries down.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Autumn Winter

The woodland setting and smoky, woody depth favour autumn and winter. The green, fresh opening keeps spring in range, while summer is the least natural fit.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Casual
Also Works:
Date Formal

A moderate trail that settles close suits casual wear best. The dark, woody character can also suit dates or formal settings; sport is the weakest fit.

About

Doric Oud is a forest-leaning woody fougere, opening with dry birch smoke and the fabric-like roughness of tweed. Its dark, grounded character is tempered by a green, fresh edge and a slight resinous quality rather than sweetness. The first impression is textured and woody, with tweed and birchwood smoke at the front. Aged leather belongs to its composition, but the scent is not leather-forward. The oud sits beneath the opening and gives the later stages a quiet depth. As it wears, the smoke softens and the drydown turns milky, faintly sweet and close to the skin. Its lasting power is strong, while the trail remains moderate at first and becomes intimate as the fragrance settles. That changing presence makes it a measured choice for someone who wants a dark woody scent without a room-filling effect. The softer finish keeps it easy to wear casually, while the deeper woods suit cooler days and evenings. The Scottish woodland setting gives the fragrance a strong sense of place. The name nods to north-east Scots and the Aberdeenshire landscape behind the perfume. Rather than leaning on a heavy, sweet oud style, it keeps oud restrained against birch, smoke and textured fabric. It sits among forest-inspired woody scents, with a quiet drydown instead of a loud, animalic finish.
