Oil Perfumery Diptyque Philosykos is a perfume oil. Diptyque Philosykos opens with Fig Leaf, settles into a heart of Fig, and dries down to a base of Cedar and Coconut. Oil Perfumery's Diptyque Philosykos carries a Favourite verdict, a green-led wear.

Green, milky and sun-warmed, a fig oil that sits close and suits long summer days. Fig leaf gives the bite, coconut the cream, and cedar the dry shade, so it never turns sticky.

Top, heart and base are the pyramid as published, not a timing claim. Each note's timing follows its listed tier, where it usually sits across many published pyramids (from ScentPrism) and its vapour pressure. A note comes through as the notes usually listed before it fade, judged from how other pyramids order the same pair. The thickness of a ribbon shows the note's share of what is left on the skin, which tracks how strongly it smells, because odour thresholds rise with vapour pressure. The shares come from how prominent wearers vote each note. It is a simple model, not a measurement.

About

Philosykos is a fig tree in July. Fig leaf opens it green and slightly bitter, with a sap-like snap, and fig fruit follows, soft and milky, with that characteristic sweetness that sits between flesh and wood. Coconut and cedar finish it, the coconut creamy and mellow and the cedar dry and warm, which pulls the scent toward a bare-skinned, sun-baked wood. The effect is Mediterranean and quiet, a grove rather than a garden party. The oil sits close to the skin and lasts a moderate while at a gentle strength. Spring and summer suit it best, and it is easy at the office or on relaxed days. It is too soft for formal evenings and sport.
