Oil Perfumery Tom Ford Rose Prick is a perfume oil. Tom Ford Rose Prick opens with Turmeric and Sichuan Pepper, settles into a heart of Rose and Rose, and dries down to a base of Vetiver, Patchouli, and Tonka Bean. Oil Perfumery's Tom Ford Rose Prick carries a Statement verdict, a woody-led wear.

Lives up to its name. Sichuan pepper opens with a tingling, earthy spice, two roses sit in the middle, and patchouli with vetiver carries it down. Thorny, spicy and projecting well.

Top, heart and base are the pyramid as published, not a timing claim. Each note's timing follows its listed tier, where it usually sits across many published pyramids (from ScentPrism) and its vapour pressure. A note comes through as the notes usually listed before it fade, judged from how other pyramids order the same pair. The thickness of a ribbon shows the note's share of what is left on the skin, which tracks how strongly it smells, because odour thresholds rise with vapour pressure. The shares come from how prominent wearers vote each note. It is a simple model, not a measurement.

About

Rose Prick lives up to its name. Sichuan pepper opens with a tingling, earthy spice, and a golden, slightly bitter note sets it apart from a typical rose. Two roses sit in the middle, one plain and one Bourbon rose, plush and sweet, with cistanche adding a dry, earthy depth that keeps the petals from floating off. It is lush but never syrupy. Patchouli, tonka bean and vetiver anchor the base, adding earth, a soft sweetness and a rooty dryness in turn. It lasts a long time and projects well, so a light hand is wise. Autumn is the best season for it, when the spice and the rose can fill the cool air. It follows Tom Ford's Rose Prick.
