Scentleys Myhr & Tonka is an Eau de Parfum. Myhr & Tonka opens with Lavender, settles into a heart of Myrrh, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Almond. Scentleys's Myhr & Tonka carries a Statement verdict, a balsamic-led wear.

Scentleys' reading of Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka (2016) - the resinous myrrh-tonka-vanilla oriental, simplified into a sweeter, less herbal composition.

About

Myhr & Tonka is Scentleys' interpretation of Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka, an almost-gourmand oriental that opens on lavender before a resinous myrrh heart settles into tonka bean, vanilla and bittersweet almond. The dupe keeps the same lavender-myrrh-tonka arc but the lavender's clean, medicinal herbal quality is toned down, and the myrrh reads softer and less resinous than Jo Malone's balsamic original. The tonka-vanilla-almond base arrives sweeter and more direct, losing some of the original's lingering, bittersweet complexity. It is a comforting oriental-gourmand rather than a precise myrrh match, with four to six hours of close sillage - in line with the more modest end of the original's own mixed longevity reports. Works well for cold-weather layering, casual wear and evening dates where a warm, resinous-sweet profile is the goal.
