About

Narcotic is Scentleys' interpretation of Initio's Narcotic Delight, a dark, boozy cherry fragrance that pairs cherry and pepper with cognac and rose before settling into tobacco, vanilla and tonka. The dupe keeps the cherry-cognac idea front and centre but the cherry reads sweeter and more candied than Initio's darker, more intoxicating fruit, and the pepper-rose heart is thinner. The tobacco base is present but less smoky and textured than the original's addictive, cognac-soaked tobacco finish. It is an enjoyable boozy-cherry gourmand rather than a precise match, performing at four to six hours of close sillage against Initio's reported eight-to-twelve-hour staying power. A reasonable way to try the cherry-cognac niche trend without the price, best suited to evening dates and cold-weather casual wear where a sweet, seductive fruit profile is the goal.
