The House of Oud Empathy is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2017, created by Andrea Thero Casotti. Empathy opens with Pear Blossom, and settles into a heart of Fruity, Tobacco, Raspberry, and Artemisia. The House of Oud's Empathy carries an Acquired verdict, a fruity-led wear.

Prepare for a proper head-scratcher. Empathy is a love-it-or-hate-it kind of scent, delivering a bizarre, contradictory blend of synthetic raspberry and heavy tobacco that leaves many utterly baffled. Don't blind buy this one unless you fancy a gamble.

The prominent tobacco and mixed reviews on its scent profile make it less suitable for formal or office settings. Its playful, yet often cloying, fruitiness paired with tobacco leans towards casual wear, with some finding it intriguing enough for a date.

About

Empathy opens with a strange, almost artificial blast of sweet, juicy raspberry, backed by a hint of pear. This fruity sweetness then collides head-on with a prominent, often smoky or even wet-cigarette-like tobacco, underpinned by woody nuances and a touch of oud, though the latter is barely detectable for many. The dry down attempts to reconcile these clashing elements, sometimes reaching a sweet, fruity-tobacco accord, but often leaving a curious, almost shampoo-like finish.
