Zoologist Perfumes
Known for concept-driven, sensory-olfactory works that often explore synesthesia and the ephemeral nature of scent, Pescio draws on Japanese Kōdō influences and materials such as rice, as seen in projects like The Rice Experience. His work for Zoologist Chameleon showcases luminous tropical facets, weaving fruity, floral and mineral notes into transparent yet characterful compositions.
Daniel Pescio is a Brazilian-born perfumer based in Paris, where he lives and works. He graduated in perfumery from ISIPCA in Versailles and has been a member of the French Perfumery Association since 2006. From 2010 to 2015 he worked at Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle in France, contributing to the development of the brand in a commercial leadership role. In 2010 he founded his own company and built his own lab, and since 2015 he has worked as an independent perfumer, creating fragrances for his own label and niche houses, consulting for brands such as Dior, Chanel, Serge Lutens and Frédéric Malle, and teaching perfume-making workshops internationally. He is the perfumer behind Zoologist Chameleon and has developed sensory-olfactory artworks informed by his study of Kōdō at the Shino-ryū school in Japan.
