Guerlain Angélique Noire
Eau de Parfum
Oil Perfumery
Frequently associated with a poetic, refined style, Andrier often works with iris, rendering it as soft and airy as tulle in scents such as several Prada releases. She is also noted for transforming darker resinous notes into gourmand-leaning accords, as seen in Prada Candy, which combines benzoin and caramel facets. Her work with luminous florals and orange blossom, evoking Mediterranean warmth, appears across creations for brands like Prada and Miu Miu.
Daniela Roche Andrier is a German perfumer born in Heidelberg in 1964. After studying philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris, she started in perfumery as a trainee at Chanel in 1988, then attended the Roure Bertrand Dupont perfumery school from 1989. She later joined Givaudan, where she currently works as a perfumer, and she is married to Gilles Andrier, CEO of Givaudan. Andrier has created fragrances for numerous brands including Prada, Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Guerlain, Gucci and Miu Miu. Notable works include Prada Candy (Prada, 2011), Miu Miu Eau de Parfum (Miu Miu, 2015), Gucci Eau de Parfum II (Gucci, 2003), Bottega Veneta Knot (Bottega Veneta, 2014) and Tiffany Eau de Parfum (Tiffany & Co., 2017). She has described her intention as wanting her perfumes to retain something "touching and elegant" and has spoken about fragrance as a way to give oneself charm and elegance regardless of wealth or clothing.
