Émilie Bevierre-Coppermann is a French perfumer and Master Perfumer at Symrise in Paris, where she has worked since joining Florasynth (later Symrise) in 1993 and being appointed Master Perfumer in 2016. She studied chemistry, then trained in perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles before learning her craft under Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Dominique Ropion and Maurice Roucel at Florasynth. Her work has been recognized with major awards including the Lalique Prize from the Centre du Luxe et de la Création in 2011/2012, the Prix François Coty in 2018, the Fragrance Foundation Perfume Extraordinaire award for Poppy Soma, and prizes for Hallucinogenic Pearl by A Lab on Fire and Savane di Seta for Salvatore Ferragamo. She has composed successful fragrances such as Burberry Brit Sheer, Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Men, Givenchy Play, Extatic by Balmain, Black XS Her for Paco Rabanne, Floriental for Comme des Garçons and Bois d’Iris for Van Cleef & Arpels. Paris-born and raised by unconventional parents with a Chanel-loving grandmother, she is also a mother of four and draws inspiration from travel to places like Tanzania and Japan.
