Giovanni Rancé is the seventh-generation steward of the historic Rancé 1795 perfume house, whose lineage of master perfumers traces back to glove-makers in Grasse, France, and to founder Francois Rance in 1795. Holding a degree in economics from Bocconi University in Milan, he came to the bench by way of finance and a passion for art, and today serves as the house's CEO, creative director and nose, balancing the maison's Napoleonic heritage with a contemporary sensibility.
