Martin Gras is a French perfumer whose career has spanned over three decades, earning him a prominent place in the luxury fragrance industry. Gras began his journey in the 1960s, furthering his expertise with a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry in Amsterdam. His formal perfumery training took place at the renowned Roure Bertrand Dupont School, now known as Givaudan Perfumery School, where he developed exceptional skills in both perfumery and chromatography. After completing his studies, Gras joined Dragoco, which became part of Symrise in 2003, and remained a key creative force within these organizations. Gras is recognized for crafting some of the most iconic men's fragrances of the 1980s and 1990s, such as Bleu Marine for Pierre Cardin, Lapidus Pour Homme for Ted Lapidus, and Cerruti 1881 Pour Homme for Cerruti. His portfolio further includes standout creations like Boudoir for Vivienne Westwood and Dalimix for Salvador Dali. Gras' collaborations have extended to prestigious houses including Amouage, Gabriela Sabatini, Chevignon, Bogner, and others. He is celebrated for his technical mastery, creative versatility, and his significant impact on both mainstream and niche perfumery.
