Odeur 71
Eau de Parfum
Comme des Garçons
Documented work such as Comme des Garçons Odeur 53 and Odeur 71 highlights Pallix’s interest in abstract, concept-driven perfumery built around unconventional and synthetic notes, evoking everyday or “non-perfume” smells rather than classical floral or oriental accords. By contrast, her Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme (1992) shows she can also construct a more traditional feminine composition within a designer context.
Martine Pallix is a French perfumer working for the major fragrance house International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF). She is credited as co-author of the original Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme (often referred to as Dolce & Gabbana Femme, 1992), created with Jean-Pierre Mary for Dolce & Gabbana and produced by IFF. Pallix later composed several unconventional scents for Comme des Garçons, including the abstract Odeur 53 (1998) and Odeur 71, which explore non-traditional, synthetic and “everyday” smells rather than classic floral or oriental structures. Her work also includes Fruit de Bois (2005) for Jean-Charles Brosseau’s Collection Homme line.
