Je Reviens
Eau de Toilette
Worth
Known primarily through his work for Worth, Blanchet favored sophisticated early-20th-century French structures built around floral notes such as narcissus, daffodil and jasmine, often with aldehydic and powdery facets, as seen in Je Reviens and Dans La Nuit (Wikiparfum, Fragrantica). His compositions for the Worth Love Poem series balanced romantic florals with musky and ambery nuances typical of interwar Parisian perfumery.
Maurice Blanchet (1890-1953) was a French perfumer closely associated with the Paris couture house Worth. In 1924 he created the fragrance Dans La Nuit for Worth, which became famous and was bottled in a special flacon designed by René Lalique (APPL, Stephan Matthews). Blanchet subsequently composed several other scents for Worth, including Vers le Jour, Sans Adieu, Je Reviens (launched in 1932), and Vers Toi, a group later referred to collectively as the Love Poem (APPL, Stephan Matthews, Fragrantica, Parfumo). Sans Adieu remained in production for decades after the couture house itself closed (APPL). He is also documented as the perfumer commissioned to create Mistinguett’s line Les Parfums de Mistinguett, produced in his factory in Suresnes near Paris (International Perfume Bottle Association).
