About

Olivier Pescheux was a revered French Master Perfumer whose career left a profound mark on the world of fragrance. Born in France and educated at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles, Pescheux's passion for scent took him from Bangkok-where he began his career at Payan Bertrand in 1990-to Paris with Annick Goutal, and then to Japan with Kao Corporation. In 1998, he joined Givaudan, one of the most influential fragrance companies worldwide, where he remained until his passing in 2023. Renowned for his cosmopolitan outlook and open-mindedness, Pescheux combined classical French perfume training with a keen sense for innovation and adventure, drawing inspiration from his experiences in Asia, including the vibrant smells of Thai cuisine and the tranquility of Japanese tea and Zen gardens. His portfolio was vast and included celebrated creations for both niche and major brands such as Dior, Montblanc, Armani, Valentino, Paco Rabanne, and Diptyque. Pescheux was admired not only for his ability to sculpt raw materials into modern olfactory signatures, but also for his mentorship of emerging talent and his commitment to authenticity in his craft. His work balanced traditional technique with contemporary flair, and his willingness to experiment and high standards in ingredient selection set him apart. Pescheux's legacy is one of innovation, generosity, and enduring influence in perfumery.
