Eau de Parfum
Serge Lutens
Lutens is closely associated with opulent, narrative-driven compositions often built around oriental, woody and resinous themes. Signature works like Ambre Sultan and Chergui showcase dense amber, tobacco, honey and spice accords, frequently inspired by Morocco, while Féminité du Bois and La Fille de Berlin highlight dark, characterful florals (violet-tinged woods, rose with pepper). His style tends toward high concentration, strong sillage and unconventional note pairings.
Serge Lutens (born 1942, France) is a French creator who became a key figure in artistic perfumery through his long collaboration with the Japanese cosmetics house Shiseido, for which he directed image and fragrance projects from the early 1980s. His first perfume, Nombre Noir, was launched in 1982 for Shiseido. He later authored influential perfumes such as Féminité du Bois (1992, Shiseido) and Ambre Sultan and Chergui, which are now pillars of the Serge Lutens fragrance portfolio. In 2000 he established his own niche brand, Serge Lutens Parfums, headquartered in France and owned by Shiseido, with over 100 fragrances listed on Fragrantica, including La Fille de Berlin and Fleurs d’Oranger.
