Steven Claisse is an American perfumer based in the NYC/New Jersey area and a longtime resident of Tenafly, New Jersey. He is Vice President and Senior Perfumer at Takasago, having worked in fragrance creation for more than 35 years, and has previously held senior roles including Executive VP and chief architect at Manheimer Fragrances and EVP of Creative and Technical Development at Belmay Fragrances. Earlier in his career he served as Director of Fragrance Development at Felton in Los Angeles. Claisse has created scents for brands such as Marc Jacobs, Gap, Revlon and Clean, and is credited with perfumes including Marc Jacobs Splash Cotton (2016) and Clean Reserve Warm Cotton. He has also served as president of the American Society of Perfumers.
